Laboratory

In order to provide our customers with optimum support for new and future tasks we have our own research and development department. Our laboratory focuses not only on quality assurances, but also on developing solutions for difficult application areas. In our in-house laboratory we conduct optical checks, density measurements and melt flow index analyses, as well as checks using the Charpy impact and sand slurry tests to be able to guarantee uniform quality at the highest level even in reclaimed material. The impact strength test according to DIN EN ISO 11542-2 is used to differentiate high molecular weight from ultra high molecular weight polyethylene.

In ultra high molecular weight polyethylene this impact strength is many times higher than in high molecular weight types. Another method which even permits ultra high molecular weight polyethylene types to be differentiated is the wear resistance test using the sand slurry method. This test method complies with the ISO standard 15527 (based on DIN/ISO 5834 - formerly DIN 58836).
